The Election and Sanctity of Life

With the swearing in of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court we can hopefully expect some serious fundamental changes in our country. Growing up in SBC life I have been conditioned to expect a “right to life Sunday” every single year. With the murder of over 60 million babies since the Roe Vs. Wade decision, it seems as though God may be answering the prayers of many evangelical Christians who have cried out to Him through the years.

While the political left is crying about the fact that Trump would appoint Barrett during an election year (something that has been done at least 14 times in the past), in fact, the Washington Post claims that 1/3 of all Justices were appointed during an election year!1, the right is rejoicing that maybe baby killing can finally be outlawed. Many conservatives of course are not Christians, but they have at least experienced enough of God’s common grace to realize murder when it’s right under their noses. The outcome of the Roe Vs. Wade decision has led to the Kermit Gosnell’s of this world and needs to be rectified as soon as possible. I am hoping that God’s people will vote for life.

Joe Biden on the other hand has said repeatedly that he wanted to codify Roe Vs Wade into federal law. When asked recently about the appointment of Barrett, Biden responded, “Number one, we don’t know exactly what she will do, although the expectation is that she very well may overrule Roe, and the only responsible response to that would be to pass legislation to make Roe the law of the land,” Biden said. “That’s what I would do.”2 Biden has made it clear for Americans. More of the same on abortion. By the appointment of Amy Coney Barrett by Trump we can clearly see an agenda that says, “no longer will it be business as usual when it comes to killing babies.”

I would ask you friends to consider the implications of the next President of the United States when it comes to the issue of the unborn. The Canaanites sacrificed their children to the god Molech by burning them alive. The Spartans threw children off cliffs who didn’t meet certain criteria for the nation. The Romans “exposed” unwanted babies. Don’t think for a second that the killing of the unborn in America is any less sinful because it’s done in clean hospitals by educated men and women in white jackets. Life is sacred, beautiful and needs the protection of God’s people. Vote life.

Open your mouth for the people who cannot speak, for the rights of all the unfortunate.

                                                              –Proverbs 31:8

“Now if people struggle with each other and strike a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, but there is no injury, the guilty person shall certainly be fined as the woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life,”

I am looking forward to the day that this court decision is overturned and this country begins protecting the defenseless.
